Simon Dufton

Simon is 45 years old and has been married to Jo for 21 years. They have 6 children ranging in age from their eldest, David, 29 to the youngest, Harry who is 9 years old. Home is in the county town of Stafford.

Simon has been riding motorcycles since 1997 ranging from a Honda VFR400 to the 1000cc Aprilia Mille R. He has just taken delivery of his first BMW, a red 2006 F650GS from Williams Motorcycles in Manchester.

Simon works as the European Sales Manager for Terex Financial Services based in Coventry and is responsible for the development and performance of the Terex Financial compact equipment business throughout Europe. 


Steve Bayley

Steve is 50 years old and the father of 2 boys, Josh’ and Lewis. Steve also lives in Stafford and has been a close friend of Simon for more than a decade!

Steve has been riding ‘bikes for more than 20 years including things such as the Suzuki RF900, Honda VFR800 and more recently the Kawasaki ZX6-R seen here in the photo.

Steve has been a serving member of the Staffordshire Police for approaching 30 years. For many of these Steve was a Police Motorcyclist riding Staffordshire’s BMW K100 series police bikes. He is currently working with the Staffordshire Road Safety Camera Partnership.



This isn't the first time Steve and Simon have ridden for charity. In June 2001 they rode right around the outside of England in just 2 1/2 days to raise money for their local hospital children's ward, The Shugborough Unit at Stafford District General Hospital raising £3,500. The photo shown here was the ride's publicity shot taken by the local paper, The Staffordshire Newsletter a couple of weeks before they set off in the Summer of 2001.
